Wendy’s Treehouse

Wendy’s Treehouse: The “Wendy-Bird” House

Wendy's Tree House

Welcome to Wendy’s House

“Build a House Around Her.”

Because she is too weak to be safely moved down into their underground home, Peter declares that they must construct a shelter directly over her where she lies. He sings out instructions to the Lost Boys, and they begin building a miniature house right around her sleeping body.

Arrival & Getting There

  • The Meet & Greet: Please call or text us 30 minutes before you arrive. Text again once you are in the driveway.
  • The House: Look for the olive green house with the wrap-around deck.
  • Parking: Park as far to the left of the driveway as possible. Only one car is permitted per camp spot.
  • Self Check-In: When you text us 30 minutes prior, we will let you know if it is a Self Check-In.
    • Enter through the black gate; ensure it is closed behind you to keep the farm animals in.
    • Follow the Goose Protocol: If Ryan Gosling is protective, text us and we will walk you up. Never be aggressive toward the geese.
  • The Path: Walk down the left side of the backyard, past the Tipi and the Lounge.
  • The Forest Entrance: Stand before the two lions at the trailhead. You can perform the “Honoring the Spirit of the Forest” ritual. Walk in and ring the chimes.
  • Finding Wendy’s: Walk down the trail until you meet the fork in the path. To the right is the Forest Barrel Sauna. To the left is the trail with all of the camp spots. When you walk to the left, you will see the compost toilet on the right of the trail. The next spot is Wendy’s.

Operational Guide for Your Stay

  • The View: The roof features sacred geometry and clear panels. While not completely clear, you can see the sky and the trees from the bed.
  • Ventilation: There are two windows by the bed that do not open, but there is a screened space above them with two vent fans. You can switch them off if you’d like using the flip switch on the cord.
  • Power & Lights: * There is a hook above the bed for your ceiling fan.
    • There is a remote for the solar lanterns and the vine twinkle lights.
    • Crucial: Please turn off the twinkle lights when not in use as they are battery-operated.
  • Heating/Cooking: Under the bed are two small storage baskets for your things. There is a BBQ grill and an enclosed fire pit on the deck. Always ask if burning conditions are okay before starting a fire.
  • Bug Control: There is a smoke alarm inside. Use incense only outside on the deck for bug control. You may light candles inside, but be very weary of the smoke alarm.
  • Relaxation: Feel free to take the lap blanket out onto the deck. You have two lounge chairs, a rocking chair, and a 2-person hammock.

Wendy’s House Rules

  • Shoes: Taking off shoes is a must. No shoes permitted inside.
  • Food: Strictly no food in the sleeping space.
  • Mamma Kitty: No mamma kitty in the house.
  • Check-Out: 1. Bring all trash up to the bins in the driveway. 2. Turn off all twinkle lights. 3. Very Important: Place the solar battery pack on the deck so it can charge for the next guest.

The Story of Wendy’s House

The “Poor Wendy” Shot When Wendy, John, and Michael first fly into Neverland, the jealous fairy Tinker Bell flies ahead to the Lost Boys’ hideout. She tricks one of the boys, Tootles, telling him that a dangerous, winged “Wendy bird” is flying toward them and that Peter wants it shot down. Tootles shoots an arrow, striking Wendy right in the chest. She falls from the sky, seemingly dead—though she is actually just knocked unconscious because the arrow struck the “Peter Pan acorn button” she wore around her neck.

“Build a House Around Her” When Peter arrives and discovers what happened, he is devastated. However, they realize she is still breathing. Because she is too weak to be safely moved down into their underground home, Peter declares that they must construct a shelter directly over her where she lies. He sings out instructions to the Lost Boys, and they begin building a miniature house right around her sleeping body.

The Awakening As the house is completed, Wendy begins to wake up. Peter tells the boys to hide and listen. Wendy looks around at this perfectly scaled little home built just for her, steps out of the front door, and sings a song expressing her wonder, realizing she is safe and “at home” in this magical place. The Lost Boys then emerge, fall to their knees, and beg her to be their mother—which she happily agrees to do.

The Space: We built “The Wendy” with that same spirit of protective magic. It is a tiny, elevated sanctuary—built from two cedar bunk beds—designed to feel like it was built just for you.
